Dulari And Derenalagi Express Gratitude To PM For Govt Help

A crowd lined up at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park to get help from Government’s Homes-CARE Initiative yesterday.
67-year-old Waqadra, Nadi, resident Ram Dulari said the Homes-CARE initiative was the answer to their prayers.
“Words cannot describe how grateful we are to the Government for this well-thought idea, because before we received no help after any devastating flood or cyclone,” Ms Dulari said.
She was among the thousands of affected Fijians living in Nadi who were struck by Tropical Cyclone Josie and Keni.
“Before we were left to fend for ourselves, but now we have a Government that cares about us and attempts to help us.”
Another grateful Nadi native from Nawaka Village, Torika Derenalagi, thanked the Prime Minister and his Government for coming up with such an initiative.
“I want to take this time to thank God for their lives especially the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, may God bless his leadership and his family,” Ms Derenalagi said.
She also commended how well organised the Homes-CARE initiative team are while providing their services to the residents of Nadi.
“We the people of Nadi are thankful for this help,” she said.
Permanent Secretary for Children, Women and Poverty Alleviation Dr Josefa Koroivueta said they would serve out 5500 people per day, 4000 for the members of the public and 1000 for the special applicants.
This includes the elderly citizens, disabled and the expecting mothers.
