The Lautoka football team are positive of a good outing against Rewa in the Vodafone Fiji FACT 2018 semifinal at Churchill Park, Lautoka on Sunday.

Coach Kamal Swamy told SUNsports yesterday that they are prepared to take on the defending champions.

“Last season the Rewa team had been consistent and they have lost so many players but they came back fighting in the Fiji FACT tournament last weekend,” he said.

“They are a good side and Marika Rodu is a smart coach but we will be ready to contain them.”

Swamy said they’ve rested a few of their veteran players while they are giving the younger ones the chance to prove themselves.

“We will need our veteran players when it comes to the Vodafone Premier League but so far training is going well especially when there is a change of venue. We will always be positive and we will be trying our best to win the tournament.”

He said at the moment they had been working on areas that they need to improve on.

“That is perfecting our attacking moves and tightening up our defence, which will help us improve our game.”

Swamy has urged Lautoka fans to be at Churchill Park when they take on Rewa at 2.30pm on Sunday.
