MOU TO ASSIST INVESTORS AND FILM PRODUCTION COMPANIES

Foreign investors or production companies that intend to set up their businesses locally for filming purposes in Fiji will now have access to better information through a MOU signing this year.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between Investment Fiji and Film Fiji to share information and facilitate services towards foreign investors or film production companies. Through this MOU, Film Fiji and Investment Fiji will ensure information including investment opportunities in areas of interest via promotional materials, investment expos for film, trainings, seminars and inter-agency meetings at national, regional and international level is available to foreign investors and film production companies.
Investment Fiji chief executive officer, Godo Mueller- Teut said such partnership will allow Investment Fiji to provide information to foreign investors and film production companies on viable areas of investments and filming as well as facilitation on tax rebates.
Film Fiji chief executive officer, Dallas Foon said the MOU would improve the exchange of information regarding production companies that visit Fiji and are comprehensively vetted for the Film Tax Rebate.
“As statutory organisations, we can work together to promote Fiji overseas and bring foreign investment to our film and associated industries,” Mr Foon said.He added Film Fiji is grateful for the support that Investment Fiji provides to our industry through facilitation and referrals.
