The post-mortem examination of a seven-year-old drowning victim was conducted yesterday.
This was confirmed by Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro.
“The victim, who was a Year Two student, was found floating dead in the Naua River, Dreketi, in the Macuata Province last Sunday,” Ms Naisoro said.
“The girl had accompanied her grandmother to attend a funeral.
“The investigations are ongoing regarding the supervision aspect,” she added.
The drowning death toll now stands at 13 compared to 15 for the same period last year.
