The Ovalau rugby team wal­loped Nasinu 26-13 during their sixth round of the Vodafone Vanua Challenge at Na­sau Park, Levuka yesterday.

Levuka coach Ilaitia Masi told SUNsports yesterday that he was impressed with the player’s per­formance as they managed to beat Nasinu under slipper conditions.

“We would thank the Lord for his guidance and protection and also we were aiming for a bonus point win,” Masi said.

“The player’s performance has progressed in each game they played in although many of them are new to the competition. The main target is get the much-needed points to improve on standing on the table points of the Vanua chal­lenge. We prepared very well for Nasinu as it was a tough match.”

Masi added that the team would working hard on areas that they felt was exposed by the tough Nasinu side as prepare to take on Bua next.

“We received a yellow card and we also gave away many penalties as well. We will be looking into these areas and hope to improve on them.”
