There’s no denying the beauty and power of ocean waves on Samson Lee.

The established local fashion designer never fails to woo the crowd.

He did so again with his Moana Collection at the Bottega Gold Fijian Fashion Festival at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

His Moana collection was featured last night during the opening of the second day of the fashion festival group show, alongside 10 other designers.

‘Samson,’ as he is known by many, is originally from Kadavu.

There was so much vibrancy on the runway, especially with the colours used and accessories made from pearl and shells.

The designer said his collection had a message to create awareness that as guardians of resources it is important for us to protect the marine environment.

He said his collection was inspired by the popular Disney movie, Moana.

Moana is a movie about an adventurous Pacific Island teenage girl, who sails out on a daring mission to save her people.

“Moana is basically about the oceans, the designs and the fusion of colours used on the collection are not only representing Fiji but other Pacific Islands as well,” Mr Lee said.

“My collection represents us from Melanesia crossing the Pacific Ocean to Polynesia, and that is why I have also used accessories such as pearls and shells from Tahiti and Cook Islands to accessorise the models for the Moana Collection.”

Mr Lee has recently opened a new store.

The Samson Lee Bridal Boutique recently opened and is conveniently located one door down from his current boutique on Butt Street in Suva’s CBD.
