Soro Stars In Sharks Win

Robust winger Epeli Soro scored a try and kicked over a penalty as the Blue Gas Police Sharks escaped with the 18-13 win over Dee Cees Nadera Panthers in the Vodafone premier grade quarterfinals at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.
Sharks scored tries to Eroni Dolodali, Joseva Katonibau and Soro with the conversions coming from the boots of Dolodali and Rusiate Nairube. Panthers scored their tries to Seva Nabetelevu, and Neale Fiu while the conversions came from Ilaitia Erene and Nabetelevu with a drop goal by Watisoni Raukavu.
However, two tries for the Panthers were disallowed which angered the players and fans as they complained to the match officials.
In other matches, Navatulevu Herons drew 10-10 with KBL Saru Dragons in a heated encounter while Nabua- based Topline Warriors lost the plot as they were pipped 16-15 by Army Bears

Under-18: West Fiji Dolphins 16- 0 Navatulevu Herons, West Coast Storm Rugby League Club 22 – 6 Burenitu Cowboys, USP Islanders 8-6 Sabeto Roosters, Namuaniwaqa Sea Eagles 4 – 5 Yasawa Islands Saints.
Under- 16: West Storms 6- 2 Burenitu Cowboys, Namuaniwaqa Sea Eagles 8- 10 Namoli West Tigers Rugby League Club, Nadera Panthers 6- 0 Ravoravo Rabbitohs, Saru Dragons 6- 4 USP Islanders.
Under-14: USP Islanders wbd Yasawa Saints, Nadera Panthers 6-18 West Storms, Saru Dragons 14 – 4 Namoli West Tigers, Lautoka Crushers 4-8 Ravoravo Rabbitohs.
