Today, security and information is critically important to businesses.

That was the theme that drew consultants, Government, Non-Governmental Organisations and a top security integrator to a one day Tyco/Johnson Controls Information seminar at the Novotel Nadi on Friday.

McDonald’s Fiji managing director Marc McElrath said: “Today security and information is very important to our business particularly for McDonald’s and particularly for our warehouse system.

“It also brings security to our current warehouses we have in Fiji and it is cutting edge technology so we are working with Wormald Fire and Security (Tyco) on some of the latest equipment we will be using in our new warehouses in the future.”

Mr McElrath added that they have been using Tyco as their security provider for their warehouses and also looked at security and access control for their new warehouse that is coming up in Lautoka.

Johnson Controls (Tyco Security Products) enterprise sales manager Michael Bragg said: “The seminar is about the enterprise solution from our alarm panel through to our access control through the global group security product range.

“The security market in Fiji has changed from a few years ago from analog to IP’s.

“We have made changes, like improving our our camera from two mega pixels to now five mega pixels, to adapt to the market.”

Mr Bragg said the firm’s business in Fiji remained strong, proving services to business clients such as Fiji Airports Limited, Punjas Limited, McDonald’s Fiji and FIJI Water to name a few.

Wormald Fire and Security Fiji manager west Mike Jamieson said
the seminar was a success.
