Letters To The Editor 5th June, 2018

Shad Alfaz Ali, Navua
Congratulation to the Fiji Sevens team for its extraordinary performance at the London Sevens.
With the seven points buffer at the top of the table, Fiji will at least be required to win a bronze medal next week to be guaranteed the series title.
We must also acknowledge the “bus” and the “Semi-Trailer” for their scintillating display which has put us on the verge of capturing the third series title in four years.
Fiji has won five titles this year with Paris being the last stop.
The last time Fiji won five titles was in the 1999-2000 Series but surprisingly, we did not win the Series. New Zealand who also won five titles won the series by six points.
Fiji can break the record by winning the sixth title this weekend and in the process also clinch the series.
Overall, we have won 36 titles since the inception of the Series in 1999. We are at the top of our game, but we must remain humble, disciplined and focussed.
We must also thank Gareth Baber for the work done and not forgetting Ben Ryan for laying the foundation of the modern Fijian rugby.
Magnificent 7s Team
Maria Tavaga, Ba
We must also thank Gareth Baber for the work done. Congratulations to our 7s heroes for yet another wonderful display of Fijian style rugby. You have brought the nation to a standstill early on Monday morning with your magical display of 7s skills.
Vinaka vakalevu (thank you) to the spectators so wonderful to see a wave of blue in the crowd all over the grandstand.
You have once again showed the world, that we are truly the KINGS OF 7s.
All the best to bringing home the HSBC title. We await a spectacular showdown in Paris.
Bula Boys 7s
Epeli Rabua, Suva
Welcome to “structured chaos” as only the Fijian Bula Boys can showcase on any 7s rugby field in the world.
And it is only fitting, that the structured chaos of Fiji’s 7s rugby was put on display for the world and our planetary extra-terrestrial neighbours to witness, than on the hallowed Twickenham ground in London!
I am sure that by the end of the HSBC London 7s, even the Queen, was cheering for Fiji’s Bula Boys, spreading their expansive, flamboyant, sizzling and magical 7s rugby like no one else can.
And I believe that she would agree with Merlin that the Bula Boys 7s display on Twickenham was bordering on the mystical and a gift just for her, from the team for allowing Fiji to be a part of her Commonwealth reign.
Again, the Bula Boys from a speck of dust in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, have conquered the World.
They have mesmerised the world like no else can and have fortified in the International Olympic Committee’s minds that rugby 7s should be a feature for all future Olympic Games!
To the Fijian ‘Bula Boys’ 7s team, congratulations for the fantastic 7s exhibited and the excellent fourth consecutive HSBC win on the trot.
It was truly magnificent and we thank our Heavenly Father for the blessings that he has bestowed on the team.
As we look forward to Paris, we in Fiji know that our Bula Boys will continue their adoration for the city of Eros by devoting all their love for the game of 7s rugby to finish off the 2018 HSBC Sevens Series with a win.
And with Radradra and Tuisova in the team, even France’s aristocracy will be cheering for Fiji. Fiji Bula Boys – We got this!!!
