The Queen Victoria School Old Boys will present the matanigasau (seeking forgiveness) at Lelean Memorial School tomorrow.

This was following an incident where Apenisa Saqanacere was alleged to be a victim of assault during the Coke Zero Deans Rugby competition between LMS and QVS in the U19 grade competition.

The incident happened at Matavatucou last Friday where the Victorians defeated LMS 7-6.

The old scholars would make a presentation seeking forgiveness in a traditional way at Davuilevu.

Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby president Solomoni Seru confirmed the victim was discharged from the hospital last Saturday.

“The student is in a good condition now after being hospitalized on Friday,” Seru said.

“The Eastern Zone Secondary School Rugby Union had a meeting on Monday where the decision was made that there will be no more games hosted at Queen Victoria School this season.

“The school is being penalized because the participating schools had broken the rules and regulations of the competition.

“We are hopeful the student will completely recover soon and continue to play for the school in the remaining rounds of the competition.

“The Police are now carrying out investigations on the matter. However, we have submitted our report to the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union and to the Ministry of Education.”
