Schools Rugby $5K Boost

Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union received $5,000 boost from Remington Konica Minolta for the 2018 Coca- Cola Deans Trophy competition.
Remington Konica Minolta chief executive officer, Mohammed Bari was grateful for the opportunity to continue their sponsorship with EZSSR and extend their support to the main body Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union.
“This is our second year of sponsorship and we are focused towards the development of grassroots rugby in the country,” Bari said.
“We are targeting schools in the Eastern Zone as they approached us last year.
“We are grateful to continue our partnership and we are happy to support the main body, Fiji Secondary School Rugby Union.
In terms of development we are really focused on students as they are our future rugby stars.
“The total amount of sponsorship is $5,000 where $1,000 is given to the FSSRU.
“And we are really fortunate to be part of Fiji Rugby Union as well whom we have been giving our equipment for free.”
Meanwhile, EZZSRU president Solomoni Seru and FSSRU admin officer Saimone Turagavou was grateful for the assistance.
“The financial help will be a great boost for the zone which comprised schools in Tailevu, Rewa and Ovalau.
As far as competition is concerned preparation has been coming up well as schools are vying to get a spot in the National Deans quarters.”
FSSRU Thankful
“We are thankful to Remington Konica Minolta for their sponsorship and grant that they have given will be able to use for stationery and also cover up logistics expenses.
“Operating the FSSRU is quiet expensive as any help given to us is appreciated.”
