Veteran Lorima Dau has replaced Marika Rodu as coach for the Delta Tigers when they take on Labasa in the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT final at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori on Sunday at 2pm. Rewa Football Association president Nizal Buksh confirmed yesterday Dau will be player/coach as Rodu has been ruled of the final due to a leg injury.

The 34-year old former national defender has been with Rewa for the past seven years.

“We are glad to have Lorima taking up the role as coach for the side as Rodu suffered a fractured shin while playing futsal at Davuilevu,” Buksh said.

“The side will be led by Dau and other senior players as we pray for Rodu’s quick recovery.

“In terms of preparations, the side has been directed by Rodu on the team game plan.

“The boys are also happy to have Josateki Tamadu back in the side after he was red carded during the pool game against Dreketi and suspended for two games.”

Buksh confirmed there are no major injuries as the players are focused on defending their Vodafone Fiji FACT title.

“After a poor performance in the Vodafone Premier League, the players are confident of delivering their best and getting the job done.

“The side has already achieved a lot so far by making it into the final.

“We lost to Labasa 4-0 in pool play and the boys are reminded to lift their form.

“We are expecting Labasa to come prepared for the final as they also have a capable coach and experienced players as well.

“I would urge all Rewa fans to come out in numbers and support the team on Sunday.”
