‘Highlanders For The Day’ Promotion Confirmed

Highlanders’ fans have the opportunity to be with their favourite rugby player at the locker room during the Super Rugby clash against the Chiefs at the ANZ Stadium, Suva on June 30.
Fiji Sports Council chief executive officer Litiana Loabuka yesterday announced as part of the “Highlanders for a Day” promotion, a lucky Fijian will have the opportunity to have access to many things other than the ones listed for the day.
“This special person will be the actual Highlander for the day and also be given the opportunity to go behind the scene,” Loabuka said.
“Fijians between the ages of 7 to 13 will be eligible and during the day they will take care of the kicking tee and have an opportunity to meet with the team. “This is open to everyone. The panel will decide who the winner will be as it closes on June 20. So those who wish to enter can send an email or story on why they deserve to be the Highlander for the day.”
She added a few Highlanders have shown interest in the Legacy programme and so they will be arriving earlier than the rest of the team.
“A few players that will arrive beforehand and these players will be part of the legacy programme that will start from the Monday before the match so Fijians will also have an opportunity to engage with them.”
Loabuka said ticket sales are going on and are made available in any of the 40 Post Fiji outlets around the country.
“The tickets sales have been having a positive response and we have the 40 Post Fiji outlets nationwide, the agencies are online so customers will be able to walk in to any sporting outlet and purchase their ticket.”
