Raj Given The All Clear

The Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission (HRADC) director Ashwin Raj has been cleared from all allegations of misconduct.
A report issued by Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption (FICAC) said there was no evidence found that supported the allegations.
This is after the completion of its investigation. The report added that the complaint lodged was “unmeritorious”.
The investigations began on June 2, 2018. The evidence that was used were documents and recorded statements from material witness because Raj was accused of abuse of office.
A statement issued by Mr Raj said that the commission welcomed the FICAC verdict.
“The HRADC reiterates that no one is above the law and as a public office and as public office holders we must conduct ourselves with full accountability and transparency in the dispensation of our constitutional rights,” Mr Raj said.
He maintains his stance as an honest and fair leader by saying:
“The commission, under my leadership, will continue with all of its independent audits including a financial audit dating back to 2008, audit of the legal and complaints department as well as an audit of the management systems and processes,” Mr Raj said.
“The findings of these independent audits will be presented to the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji.”
