Nadi Bula Festival Launched

Nine contestants will be vying for the Nadi Miss Bula Queen when the festival begins on July 14.
The queen contestants were announced during the launch of the Nadi Bula Festival at the Nadi Bay Hotel on Friday night.
In launching the event, Nadi Town Council chief executive officer Peter Dinning said the festival will remain true to supporting and assisting local charity.
“This festival brings community benefits, fundraising and local charity benefitting and a sense of wellbeing,” Mr Dinning said of the weeklong event.
“Once you join in the festival you…great friendship which will continue to grow. This is what the festival has done in its 58th year.
“The reward the festival brings to the community is unsurpassed working for community, working for children, and working for children and for the region.”
Nadi Bula Festival Association president Ravin Nadan said the Nadi Bula Festival Trust Association support charity ‘Project 16’ and promotes healthy living with the theme: ‘Hands of charity’.
He said ‘Project 16’ was a community centre with a purpose of enriching the community’s physical, emotional, and spiritual health through fitness; Sports art recreation and wellness mission and vision of this project.
Meanwhile, also announced were seven king contestants which has been reintroduced after a lapse of eight years.
