Dreketi School Secures IDC Spot

Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School, a rural school in the outskirts of Dreketi has made their mark by clinching a spot in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association Interdistrict Championship.
The IDC is held during the first week of the second term holidays at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School coach Ramnish Mani said they’ve created history by breaking a 16-year drought as their Under-19 side qualified for the tournament.
“We beat Labasa Muslim College, Lekutu Secondary and Seaqaqa Central College in pool play of the zone 2,” he said.
“Then we went on to beat Savusavu Secondary School 3-1 in the semifinals
“The players showed sheer commitment and dedication to lift the school’s name and we’re eager to bring the under- 19 Cup to Dreketi.”
Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School principal, Mohammed Mashud Ali said, he was elated at the gallant performance of his U19 team and thanked the management, parents, students and staff for their support.
“The proud Voloca community where the school is situated always rally behind the betterment of the school and we wish the jubilant team officials and boys the very best of luck at the IDC in Nadi.”
