Thirty teams will compete in the 2018 Vodafone Sanatan Inter-District Championship on June 29-July 1 at USP and St Marcellin Primary School ground.

In the Open grade, 20 teams will be contesting while 10 teams will compete in the Veterans grade.

Vodafone manager sponsorship Adriu Vakarau was grateful for the opportunity to assist the tournament.

“Vodafone Fiji has been sponsoring events across the country in our bid to support the business and community initiatives for the wholesome development of our country,” Vakarau said.

“As a 100 per cent locally owned entity, the Vodafone Fiji’s brand has lived just beyond just being about connectivity but more to do with being a value based impression for our customers.

“Vodafone has ensured that our passion for the vanua grow by working towards fulfilling our community and civic responsibilities by giving back to the community.

“As part of the Sanatan convention, the Sanatan IDC has grown to be an earmarked event in the football calendar.

“The championship has become a great breeding ground for potential players and a great avenue to bring the local and international communities together.

Sanatan Sports Wing president Dhirendra Nand thanked Vodafone for their support in funding the tournament.

“Our tournament once again has grown with their sponsorship,” Nand said.

“Sanatan Sports have been moving at a fast pace towards reforms especially the changes with the rules and regulations of the game.

“And of the new rules that we have brought in the tournament that players participating need to be part of the Ramayan Mandali.

“We hope to see more mandali’s register for the tournament and follow the cultural upbringing of the Sanatan beliefs.

“We will be conducting a blood test for our players and we are grateful to Fiji football for their assistance in this as we want to keep a clean and drug free tournament.”

Pool C; Tavua, Nadi, Lautoka, Labasa

Pool D; Korovuto, Varoka, Makoi, Rewa

Pool E; Nasinu, Rakiraki, Cuvu, Ba

 

Veterans Grade

Pool A; Makoi, Drasa, Nadi, Nabua, Ba

Pool B; Nasinu, Navua, Tuva, Suva, Rewa.
