We’re 9th In World

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians are ranked 9th in the world after the first round of the June Tests internationals over the weekend.
And Coach John McKee said the Flying Fijians need to strive for better rankings than ninth and that’s mean punching above their weight in winning internationals against Tier One nations.
“I’m happy we are being recognised as it reflects on our performance,”McKee said.
“But we need to push for higher ranking and that means beating Tier One nations.
“We are building up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup and we are gauging our performance in the Pacific Nations Cup and the Europe Tour in November.”
Fiji relegated Argentina to 10th after beating Samoa 24-22 while the Pumas lost 10-23 to Wales in San Juan.
The Pumas play the second test in Santa Fe while Fiji play 12th ranked Georgia on Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
Fiji currently sits on 77.93 points while Argentina is on 77.54pts.
The first time Fiji reached 9th place was in 2007 under Coach Ilivasi Tabua. And under McKee we attained 9th placing in 2015 , 2017 and 2018.
Our worst ranking was 16th in 2011, 2012.
