A 25-year-old man is in police custody for allegedly assaulting his 4-year-old daughter and 3-year-old niece.
The alleged incident was reported at the Samabula Police Station yesterday by a close relative who
saw visible injuries on the bodies of the young children when visiting their Samabula home.
The alleged assault occurred sometime last week.
Initial information gathered is that the suspect is alleged to have thrown a root crop at his 3-year-old
niece and slapped her several times and later allegedly assaulted and hit his daughter with an object
causing injuries.
The 4-year-old is currently admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital as investigations
continue.
