‘I’ve To Prove My Worth’

Fiji Airways Fijian 7s blockbusting Semi ‘Beast’ Kunatani said only the best should make the 12-member team for the Rugby World Cup Sevens (RWCS) in San Francisco next month.
He arrived with the team from Paris yesterday.
“The current players have been playing well, their combination have developed and improved and earning a spot in the RWCS squad will not be easy for some of us who are trying to make the team,” Kunatani said.
“I’ve to prove my worth.”
He was part of the 2016 Rio Olympics gold medal winning side and currently plays for Top 14 side Toulouse in France.
“If given the opportunity I will take it but the challenge is to perform during training and get the nod ahead of my teammates who have been working hard.”
Kunatani is among the players Coach Gareth Baber aims to include in the squad. The others are Semi Radradra, Josua Tuisova and Leone Nakarawa.
