Lee leads Classics pack

Fijian professional Sam Lee was among the four leaders on day one of the Sheraton Golf Classics 2018 at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club and the Natadola Bay Championship Golf course respectively yesterday.
Lee, 27, who is fresh from winning the Cardos Fiji Open Golf over the weekend, is a strong contender for the title. He shot six under par 66 with Micah Dickinson of New Zealand.
Brad Burns of Australia and defending champion Pieter Zwart (NZ) shot the same score at Natadola.
In second spot were Kiwi duo Ben Williams and Lachlan MacDonalds who shot seven under par 67.
Williams who is from Hawkes Bay in NZ but resides in Melbourne said he enjoyed day one of the competition.
“Did not do too much putts but love to come to this event as this is my sixth year,” he said.
“The Denarau course is fantastic but Natadola is expected to be tough.”
Josh Geary (NZ) shot eight under par 68 at Natadola to be in third spot.
Tournament organiser Richard Ellis said the golfers are enjoying themselves.
“The players have been brilliant and all are enjoying their game and some are facing some good competition,”Ellis said.
Meanwhile, Suva businessman Olaf Allen Jnr shot hole in one on No.7 at Natadola.
