NADI To Be Declared City
The official declaration of Nadi as a city will be done by Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama at Prince Charles Park in Nadi in August.
This has been confirmed by Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, Dr Ram Raju. He said that special celebration would be held for two to three days to mark the ausicipicious occasion in which a tentative program is expected to be issued in the coming weeks.
“We had our first committee meeting on Tuesday at the Nadi Town Council chambers and the chairman was former mayor, Sanjit Patel. We look forward to your support and generosity as we’ll be looking for sponsors to help celebrate this historical and milestone event or achievement that will have far reaching benefits to just about every member of the community,” Dr Ram Raju said.
He has also called on media organisations to work with council in celebrating a milestone achievement for Nadi.
