Fijiana XVs Too Strong For Hunters

The Fiji Airways Fijiana XVs ended their Australian tour on a high note last night. The Ro Alifereti Doviverata- coached side thrashed Newcastle Hunters 66-7 at the No.2 Sportsground in Newcastle.

In their first match they walloped a star studded Brumbies Women side 33-7 in Canberra last Monday.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to come across to Australia,” Fijiana XVs co-captain Lailanie Burnes told Newcastle Herald.

“We know the level of rugby here is quite strong, so we’re learning as much as we can and also trying out some of the things we’ve learnt back in Fiji. We want to develop the team and bring us to another level.”

Burnes said the team’s vision is to make it to the 2021 Women’s Rugby World Cup.
