Fijian professional golfer Sam Lee finished third in the Sheraton Classic Golf 2018 last Saturday at the Natadola Bay Golf Championship and the Denarau Golf and Racquet club respectively.

He shot one shot back from the leaders for 12 under par 276 (66, 73, 70, and 67), Kiwi Pieter Zwart won in a playoff against fellow countrymen Hayden Beard; at 13 under par (275).

“I missed the playoff by one shot,” he said.

“I was a bit at a disadvantage finishing at Natadola, the others finished at Denarau, which has more scoring holes there.”

Lee earned $5000 for his efforts.

Zwart retained his title for another year and made him the only player to engrave his name to the silverware three times, the other wins were in 2011 and 2017.

He pocketed $11,000 while Beard settled for $6700.

Victorian Brenden Stewart shot (-10) to finish in fourth spot ahead of NZ’s Mark Brown (-8), Ryan Chisnal (-8) and Queenslander Brad Burns (-7) respectively.

The tournament in its eight editions has been organised by the Pacific Golf Management, which was formed in 1990.

Founder and tournament director Richard Ellis, said, the tournament was again a huge success and it was not possible without the sponsors.

Meanwhile, Pacific Golf organises a number of very successful overseas golf tours and tournaments.
