Standard Of Play Has Lifted: Qoro

The standard of netball displayed at the New World IGA Suva Netball competition has lifted, says president Gabrieli Qoro.
With two more rounds of games remaining, Qoro said with the intensity of the competition all teams are out to secure better placing.
“This was our fifth round of competition,” he said.
“Looking at the competition the players know they are in for the crunch time.
“The standard of the game has picked up and the competition is getting tougher because the results now will determine their placing or where they will finish this round of games.”
Qoro said they would be having Inter Confederacy Games on July 7 and he also confirmed that the main final will be held on July 28.
“So we’re looking at having the final rounds at the end of the month and on July 7 we will be having our club fundraising competition,” he added.
“The competition will focus on the little ones and we will have the Revelations Sports Club from New Zealand, so that will be the highlight of our Inter Confederacy Games on that date.
“We have our selectors from Netball Fiji who will be sorting players to be part of our national squad.”
Qoro said next week Monday they would conduct fitness test for the players especially for the Under-18 players. He also acknowledged the support of their major sponsor New World and also the new teams who have joined the competition.
