Akbar: Don’t Let Thoughts Of Division Separate Us

We should never let thoughts of division separate us because of our religion, says the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Rosy Akbar.
She highlighted this during Eid celebrations at Tavua Market in Tavua yesterday.
The event was organised by the Tavua Market Vendors Association which saw more than 500 people hosted to lunch and sweets.
“We are blessed to live in a multicultural society. Never let any thoughts of division separate us because of our religion and we treat everyone with respect and dignity.
“We should also embrace multiculturalism as we try to move Fiji forward,” Ms Akbar said.
Association President, Abdul Azeem said: “I want to thank Government for their assistance through the CARE initiative, that is, Homes-CARE, Farms-CARE, eTransport and for not charging market fees for six weeks.
“This assistance has enabled our members to return to the market business.
“In Fiji we have a wonderful opportunity to celebrate events of this nature in Tavua we are blessed to celebrate in such a big manner.
“I would like to thank the Government for giving us the freedom to celebrate all religious festivals without fear of being intimidated.”
Ms Akbar also reminded them to be vigilant with their health while enjoying the food and sweets.
