Yogesh Punja is now the new High Commissioner to India.
Luke Daunivalu, Fiji’s chief negotiator in the COP23 Presidency, takes over from Mr Punja who served a three-year term in Canberra.
The appointments were confirmed through the Fiji Consulate Sydney and Trade Commission to Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Punja’s appointment in Australia began in June, 2015, with the aim to increase Fiji’s agricultural exports to meet the demands of Australian markets.
This was also in addition to his interest towards increasing Australian tourists to Fiji.
The position in India had been vacant for some time.
The acting Head of Mission in Canberra is Kartik Pratap. Edited by Ranoba Baoa
