My Time With The Highlanders: Tuilevu

One of Aisea Tuilevu’s highlights in his rugby career was playing against some of the best rugby players that inspired him.
The former Flying Fijians star winger regarded Jeff Wilson (Goldie) to be one of those heroes in his rugby career and a few others during his rugby career with the Super Rugby club.
H played for the Highlanders for four years (2001-2004), Tuilevu scored 8 tries in 10 games in 2001 to equal the record set with Andrew Walker who played for the ACT Brumbies.
The Navosa native made 33 appearances for the Highlanders and played 92 games at provincial level representing Waikato (1996-1997), North Harbour (1999-2001) and Otago (2002-2004).
With the Super Rugby game to be staged for the third time in Suva at the ANZ Stadium, Tuilevu has been earmarked to be one of the ambassadors for the Pulse Energy Highlanders.
Speaking about the match up next week Saturday, Tuilevu believes the Highlanders have what it takes to go all the way to the final stages of the competition.
“If they continue to maintain consistency week in and week out of the remaining games, for sure they can win the Super Rugby competition this season.”
Now working with the Nadroga Rugby Under-20 team, Tuilevu shared that in order to see progress on the field for any young rugby player, one should set a target, maintain a fitness and to stay humble and disciplined.
