Mother of five, Visila Kolitapa, is ready to take on debutant Inise Kaunimara in the lone women’s middleweight bout at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, tonight.

The two will be fighting under the Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotions banner.

“I’m looking forward to meet her in the ring and will not be underestimating her,” Kolitapa said.

“This fight is going to be a great build-up for my career.”

The 39-year-old hails from Soso, Naceva in Kadavu and has been in the sport for the past 13 years before turning pro last year.

“I’m dedicating this fight to my children, especially my son who is in Soweto in South Africa,” she said.

Kolitapa, made her debut in October 2017 against Anaseini Dakua.

She is training under the watchful eyes of her husband and former amateur boxing star Temo.

Her opponent Kaunimara is from Matacaucau, Tailevu and wants to make her name in the sport. The 24-year-old, mother of three is the wife of amateur boxer Kitione Save.

“I do know my opponent way back in 2015. She is a good boxer and is a tough woman. We’re both going for a win,” said Kaunimara who has been training under trainer Osea Nanuqu.

“I have been preparing well for this fight and I thank the promoter for giving me this opportunity.”
