60 musicians showcase talents at World Music Day

The World Music Day event held at the Fiji Museum last Friday gave an opportunity for 60 artists to showcase their talents. This was an evening to remember for many.

Organised by Alliance Française de Suva this is the 17th time this annual event was held here.

The aim of the concert is to give free access to music to everyone, everywhere.

Each year more than 340 cities organise this event in more than 100 countries.

Alliance Française cultural officer Charlotte Tassel, said through this festival many people in Fiji got the chance to show their talent in every way they could.

“It was a high quality performance from the artists and bands and even the students from the different group really did great,” Ms Tassel said.

She said the popular bands brought in the high quality performances expected including KNZO (New Caledonia) who also performed.

The event included performances from Four Quarters, The Relative, VOU kids, The Washington Tin Band, Avenue Fiji and KNZO among others.

Ms Tassel said they expect a much bigger and better event next year.
