Athletics Fiji has elected three new members to be part of the executive committee during their annual general meeting at the FASNOC boardroom in Suva, yesterday.

They are Karavali Liwai who has been elected as treasurer, Jo Tuinamata for senior technical officer and women sprinter Sisilia Seavula as athletes’ representative.

The three join the existing executives of president Joseph Rodan Snr, general secretary Nemani Tukunia and chief development officer Joseph Rodan Jnr.

Rodan Jnr told SUNsports yesterday that they are happy to have the three new members since they have the best interest of the sport.

He added that the term of the new  members will be for a year and they will be working towards the preparations for next year’s Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa.

“The AGM was a positive one where we discussed the final reports and the achievements that we have had over this year,” Rodan Jnr said.

“We will soon begin preparing towards next year’s Pacific Games.

“The first trials will be held in October but soon we will be putting together a training squad in August.”
