The hearts of 41 families living at Lovu Hart Settlement in Lautoka were touched after receiving assistance on Saturday from a charitable organisation.

Lovu Hart community head resident Mereia Naimotu said such help from the Hands and Feet Charity Organisation touched the hearts and minds of people.

“Most families living here are low income earners, who struggle to get by every week, mainly single-mothers. So when help comes along it really means something, it also shows us that there are people who really care,” Ms Naimotu said.

The 41 families received more than $2000 worth of groceries and other household items.

“We are indeed grateful because for some of us, it could not be more-timely and for most of these families they can survive on these supplies for a month.”

Lovu Hart resident Ela Ucunivanua said the kind gesture gave them hope.

“We receive these assistance with a grateful heart and we pray that God will richly bless the members and their families,” Ms Ucunivanua said.
