38,939 Traffic Infringement Notices For 2017

The Land Transport Authority issued 38,939 Traffic Infringement Notices (TIN) last year.
Commenting on the effectiveness of the speed cameras on our roads, LTA General Manager Technical Operations Faiyum Ali said that there were provisions in their system that captured the offending vehicles.
He said once a vehicle owner or driver received a TIN notice, there would be an image with the details of the offence surrounding it.
Mr Ali added that in situations where two vehicles were captured at the same time, their speed cameras would have the capability to determine the offending vehicle. This is recorded in their data block.
The data block would provide the details of the offence including the vehicle number, the time and the date of the offence.
Meanwhile, all driver licence holders are urged to visit their nearest LTA office and update their contact details so that the notifications would reach them as soon as possible.
Starting from next week, TINs will be sent via text messages.
