BUDGET 2018: $44.8 Million For Easing Traffic Flow on Our Roads

An amount of $48.8 million has been set aside in the 2018-2019 National Budget for Fiji Roads Authority projects to improve and ease the flow of traffic around the country.

BUDGET 2018: $44.8 Million For Easing Traffic Flow on Our Roads

An amount of $48.8 million has been set aside in the 2018-2019 National Budget for Fiji Roads Authority projects to improve and ease the flow of traffic around the country.

From this allocation, a total of $5.3m will be pumped into improvement of roads along the Nadi–Lautoka corridor, gateway treatments, pedestrian crossings, four lanes and bypasses.

New projects will include phase two works of the Queen Elizabeth Drive with an allocation of $15m and upgrading threshold signage for villages along the Kings and Queens Road, which was allocated a total of $430,000.

A total of $4m has been allocated for footpaths, bus stops and drainage works in Nadi and $1.5m each for the Queens and Kings roads passing lanes.
