BUDGET 2018: $74 Million Allocated to Fiji Roads Authority to be Used for Renewing and Replacing Existing Road Assets

The biggest chunk of the 2018-2019 National Budget allocation for the Fiji Roads Authority will be pumped into renewing and replacing existing road assets across the country, a total of $74 million.

Under this allocation, total of $26m has been allocated for all road rehabilitation and drainage works for Suva, $14m for the Northern Division and $20m for the Western Division.

This will include the rehabilitation of Vunimasei Access Road in Legalega, Nadi, with the cost of $300,000.

Meanwhile, the total budget allocation for FRA is $563m, an increase of $35m from last year.

Another total of $69.6m has been allocated to upgrade rural roads within Central, Western, Northern and Eastern Division, an increase of $9m from last year.
