‘I feel very proud since this is my school’s first year for the cadet pass out parade’

Aspiring soldier Temo Koroivuki of Dudley High School was awarded the Baton of Honour during the school’s passing-out parade at Albert Park yesterday.

The 20-year-old said he was not expecting the awards.

“I was standing there and when my name was announced, I was surprised and nervous,” Mr Koroivuki said.

“I feel very proud since this is my schools first year for the cadet pass out parade.”

Mr Koroivuki was raised by his grandfather and mother.

He said during the training there were a lot of challenges, including arrival in school before 7am.

The deputy headboy, who hails from Matokana in Ono-I-Lau, is looking to becoming a soldier. Edited by Ranoba Baoa
