Concert Wins Hearts Of Families, Friends

The St Joseph’s Secondary School annual concert won the hearts of a capacity audience during a two-hour musical extravaganza at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva on Thursday night.
The quality performances by the all girls Suva-based school attracted more than 800 people.
With the theme for the concert titled ‘Civilization of Love’ most in attendance went home revitalized with the message of what love means.
The students explained the meaning of love by their excellent performances on stage in their many different items and motions.
It was a night of entertainment that brought families and friends ,together to understand the girls message through their traditional, modern and dramatic dances.
The school’s former principal, Sister Genevieve Loo, said the students produced a simple, but compelling message that each person had a role to play and to become an agent of change for others by cultivating a responsible attitude.
She added that it took them five months to come up with a theme for the concert which about 630 students had an opportunity to interpret.
“That love is genuine that can bring about change and unity among people and one another. This is love which motivates us to serve,” Sister Loo said.
The school’s head girl, Julie Tamani, 18, said that this was her final year of participating in the concert and she would miss being part of the event in the years to come.
“This is exciting and also sad because this is my last year and I am making memories of this concert,” she said.
