Nadroga Women Survive Rewa Fightback

The Nadroga Women’s rugby team are closing in for a semifinal spot in the Skipper Cup Premiership semifinal after they beat Rewa 34-26 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori yesterday.

Nadroga dominated the first half running in four tries with one conversion as they led 22-10 while Rewa managed only two unconverted tries. The hosts fought back in the second half by scoring two more tries while Nadroga also ran in two converted tries.

Nadroga Women’s coach Nimilote Dau told SUNsports that this was their fifth win in the competition as they are yet to know who will be their semifinal opponent.

“We had a tough game and Rewa kept us on our toes. We are now looking forward to the semifinal.”

Rewa Women’s coach Taitusi Camaibau said they could have won the game but fell short in the end.

“We’ll try to do better next time,” he added.
