Lawyers for the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, and its chief executive officer Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, have been given 14 days to file their amended statement of claim against the Fiji Labour Party.

FBC lawyer Komal Singh appeared before High Court Master Vishwa Sharma yesterday while Dharmendra Kumar appeared for FLP.

Ms Singh said FLP had sought $1000 in costs for the amendment, however they have negotiated and both agreed on the sum of $750.

Mr Kumar requested if FBC could pay up the amount before the amended statement was filed and served.

The case has been adjourned to August 9, 2018 for mention.

FLP made claims that FBC was unable to service its loan of about $21 million and that the CEO had to turn to the Attorney-General “Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum” to “bail him out of this mess and the taxpayers got butchered in the process as an easy way was found to settle the matter”.
