PM: More Developments in Store for Northern Division

There will be more projects opening in the Northern Division to lift the living standards of all Fijians.
This was highlighted by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama who said “with the FijiFirst Government no one is left behind.”
“From electricity grid extensions to transformative telecommunications projects, from new schools to roads to bridges, Government buildings, fire stations, and town developments, we are truly making Vanua Levu the new frontier for Fijian development,” Mr Bainimarama said
“As Vanua Levu grows and flourishes, so will all of Fiji.”
He said the Northern Division mattered when it came to progress and development.
“None of Government’s support, none of our efforts to move Fiji forward, would matter without your active participation in the process,” Mr Bainimarama said.
“That is why we’re here – to allow you to tap into the many valuable services that Government has to offer you.
“More than 300 Government officials from over 50 different agencies are here to help you; please, go out and explore what is available.
“Visit the stalls and engage with officials, who are here to assist you. Take full advantage of this opportunity.
“Later, we will take part in a Talanoa Session, where you will have the opportunity to raise your issues and questions directly with me as your Prime Minister, my fellow ministers, Permanent Secretaries, senior Government officials, corporate organisations and NGOs that are present here today.
“Through this open and constructive line of dialogue, I hope that we all leave with a more informed understanding of the issues facing each of you, and mapping out the solutions that will bring your families, Bua, Vanua Levu, and all of Fiji.”
When it comes to accomplishing our Constitutional obligations to the Fijian people, my Government has already made a great deal of progress in Bua.
In January this year, I commissioned the new Kubulau Government Station and few borehole projects in the Tikina of Kubulau.
And in 2016, I commissioned the Nabouwalu Dreketi Highway the Raravula Access Road, a pair of massive infrastructure projects that totaled a $231 Million investment in the region.
“Since their completion, these projects have already helped unleash the area’s economic potential, increase the value of iTaukei land and improve the lives wells, so will all of Fiji.
“None of Government’s support, none of our efforts to move Fiji forward, would matter without your active participation in the process.
“That’s why we’re here to allow you to tap into the many valuable services that Government has to offer you.”
