The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) is aware of allegations of rape by a Fijian soldier after graduating from the Royal Military College in Australia.

RFMF Chief of Staff Coordination, Captain Eroni Duaibe, confirmed that the Second Lieutenant, Samisoni Loloma Baikeitoga, was selected for a one-year course at the Australian military college.

However, Captain Duaibe declined to make further comments because the case was before the Australian court.

The Fijian soldier remains in custody after being refused bail and is due back in court later this month.

According to an ABC report the Fijian soldier was arrested last Thursday, two days after he and other staff cadets held their traditional graduation parade, at the end of 18 months of intense officer training.

According to Wikipedia the Royal Military College – Duntroon prepares cadets and other selected candidates for careers in the Army by promoting leadership and integrity, by inspiring high ideals and the pursuit of excellence, and by inculcating a sense of duty, loyalty and service to the nation.

The Royal Military College, Duntroon, also known simply as Duntroon, is the Australian Army’s officer training establishment.
