State Given Time To File Info And Disclosure In Drug Bust Case

The State has to file information and disclosures of Australian national, Yvette Dainne Nikolic, by July 24, the High Court has ordered.
The case involving the accused was called yesterday in the Lautoka High Court before Justice Aruna Aluthge.
Nikolic was charged after drugs, arms and ammunition were found on a yacht at Port Denarau Marina, Nadi, on June 22, 2018.
Nikolic faces charges of:
- One Count of unlawful importation of Illicit Drugs contrary to section 4 (1) of the Illicit Drugs Control Act, 2004
- One Count of unlawful possession of Illicit Drugs contrary to section 5 (a) of the Illicit Drugs Control Act, 2004 and
- One Count of failure to declare Arms and Ammunition to a Custom Officer contrary to section 21 (1) (a) of the Arms and Ammunition Act, 2004.
It is alleged that the accused and another person imported 12.9 kilograms of cocaine and 34.4 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine tablets with an estimated value of between $20 to $30 million.
It is also alleged that she failed to declare that she had in her possession one nine millimetre Smith and Wesson pistol with 62 rounds of ammunition and one revolver with 41 rounds of ammunition.
The matter has been adjourned to July 17, for mention. The accused has been remanded in custody.
