LDS Confident Of Chef Challenge Win

The only Central division school competing in the Schools Chef Challenge 2018 is confident of a win.
Latter-day Saints (LDS) Church College is entering the competition for the first time.
Ten students from the school are among the 140 students participating in the two-day challenge which began yesterday.
Year 11 student, Roslyn Yee, said: “We are coming to get a gold medal and even though it only took us a week to prepare we are confident that we will get a gold.
“This is all done for our school.”

School teacher Sister Carolyn Blackburn said: “This is good exposure for our cooking class students from all grades. We hope to grow from here and for our students to enhance their passion.”
Resort Executive Chef Shailesh Naidu who has been in the industry for the past 30 years said the competition was part of their department community project.
Participants will be judged by Australian multi-award winning chef and Culinary Federation president Neil Abrahams.
“We have been hosting this competition for the last seven years. Now we have included schools from Suva right across to Ba.”
