Roqica Grateful
Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s captain Ana Maria Roqica is looking forward to her first Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco on July 20-22.
Roqica missed out on the last world cup in Russia in 2013 and has made it her goal not to miss the four-yearly event.
Roqica said it has been a tough few weeks of preparations but she is confident in the team selected by head coach Iliesa Tanivula.
“My target is to make the RWCS and I am so happy to be part of this team.
“It has been a tough three weeks and the girls have done their best. On Wednesday, it was tough for the coach to choose the 12 players. I’m confident in these players and they are ready.”
Roqica added the first game against Spain is important. “Our first game against Spain is the main one if we are to make the quarterfinals,” Roqica said.
