The Consumer Council of Fiji yester­day announced that their chief ex­ecutive officer of Consumer Council of Fiji Premila Kumar has resigned.

The Board accepted her resignation not­ing her dedicated service to the organisa­tion for close to 12 years. Over this period, she has lifted the image and visibility of the Council to a very high level through her able and dynamic leadership.

The Board said they appreciate and ac­knowledge the immense contribution she has made in lifting the profile of the Coun­cil and the confidence of all consumers who are now more assertive and knowl­edgeable about their consumer rights and responsibilities.

She has many successes to her credit and among them is that she has worked with the line Ministry in acquiring a new office premises, moving just a few weeks ago, and obtaining a decent budget from the Gov­ernment to serve the Fijian consumers.
