Toddler, 2, Dies, Trapped By Wheels
Members of the Usman family were in grief after the passing away of two-year-old Tazif Usman.
She died at Nine Miles on Thursday after an accident.
It is believed that the toddler was being supervised by her grandfather when the incident took place.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the vehicle involved in the mishap was driven by a 38-year-old.
Family friends claim the vehicle had some defects and had to be taken to the garage.
While reversing the vehicle, it is alleged that Tazif appeared suddenly behind the vehicle and the wheel of the bicycle she was riding somehow got caught in the wheel of the vehicle.
She was taken to the Nausori Health Centre, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Family members were too distraught to comment.
The driver has been questioned by Police.
