Ex-Corrections Officer’s Dream Comes True

Twenty-five-year-old Ronald Prasad’s dream of joining the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) came true after the 2018 Basic Recruit Course passing-out parade at the Force Training Ground (FTG) Nasinu last Thursday.
Mr Prasad worked for the Fiji Corrections Service for six years and resigned to undertake the
course.
He said the 13-week course was tough, especially in their field practical course.
“We lifted heavy materials and carried heavy packs while training,” Mr Prasad said.
He said he had to join the RFMF the hard way, but was happy that he successfully completed the course.
When asked if at one time he had wanted to withdraw he answered: “Never”.
His wife, 27-year-old Sharon Prasad, also confirmed that it was her husband’s dream was to join the RFMF.
“I’m really happy that he has achieved his dream,” she said.
Mrs Prasad said she knew that her husband would pass all their tests.
After the passing-out parade Mr Prasad said he was ready to serve the nation.
He said he was hoping to be selected to join the Regular Force and go on a tour of duty overseas.
