Squatter Families To Be Relocated

Twenty five households living in the Fiji Muslim League squatter settlement in Nabua will be relocated to Waidra in Baulevu, outside Nausori.
This was confirmed by the Minister for Local Government, Housing, Infrastructure and Transport, Parveen Bala, outside Parliament on Wednesday.
“The squatters have agreed to move to the 13-acre piece of land given to us by the league and it is free of charge and we are working closely with officials,” he said.
Mr Bala added some tenants were relocated to Housing Authority of Fiji properties.
“We will need to a proper subdivision and fix the roads and drainage before relocating them,” he said.
Mr Bala said there was a delay in the declaration of Navua Town because there were still many developments needed to be completed.
