The St John’s College Under-17 team will file a protest to the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union.

The Ovalau-based side went down to Queen Victoria School 11-10 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori and would not qualify for the Powerade Super Rugby Deans competition.

Coach Suwani Rauto claimed the referee should have stopped the match after 30 minutes after they led 10-8.

“But instead he extended it for another five minutes,” Rauto said.

FSSRU executive Biu Colati said coaches have their own time and so does the officials.

“Managers can keep their own time but we have the official times as well,” he said.

“There might be some stoppages during the match which may have resulted in the game being played for another five minutes. But we will look into it.”
