Diabetes patients who attend clinics with Diabetes Fiji have received a helping hand from the Rotary Club of Brisbane International.

The Australia-based charity gave four wheelchairs to assist diabetes patients around Fiji to move around when they go for clinics.

Community Programme Co-ordinator Marawa Kini said they were grateful for the support and assistance from the donor.

“These wheelchairs will be distributed to our three main hubs,” he said.

The hubs are Suva, Lautoka and Labasa. The fourth one will be given to the physiotherapy department at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

Mr Kini thanked the Rotary Club in Suva for helping to clear the items from Customs. CWM Hospital surgeon Dr Eddie McCaig and Dr Ragesh Sharma received the wheelchair yesterday.
